6 Healthy Habits for the Workplace
With the stress of the daily grind, workers must learn to stay healthy. There are ways to manage stress in the course of the day. Sheila Viesca, TalkShop CEO explains, “Being healthy requires the mindfulness to do simple things to function at one’s peak everyday. These can mean the difference betweenstaying productive and letting fatigue seep in. “
She shares these suggestions:
1. Get enough sleep. This is the best start to a day. Lack of sleep affects productivity, more so when you have to put up with a series of late nights.
2. Get up early. Early risers are more positive, confident, and motivated. They seize the day.
3. Don’t sit all day. The sedentary set-up at the workplace has given rise to “sitting disease” that poses health risks. Get up twice every hour.
4. Drink lots of water to stay dehydrated. This helps you focus more on the tasks at hand.
5. Mind your posture. Stand and sit straight. This helps strengthen your core, while making you look confident.
6. Be happy. Stay connected with family and friends.
